About Aiki


Aiki (they/no pronouns) lives in Hamburg and writes novels, radio drama, short fiction and essays that explore themes such as community, embodiment and queer speculative futures.

Their short fiction—published in FrenchEnglish and Chinese—has been honored with the Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis and the Deutscher Science Fiction Preis.

The European Science Fiction Society honored Aiki with the Chrysalis Award

The novels Neongrau and Neurobiest and Proxi each received the Kurd Laßwitz Preis for Best Science Fiction Novel. 

Neongrau was adapted into an audio drama series for ARD and Neurobiest has been adapted into an audiobook for SWRProxi is currently being translated into English for an US edition.

Together with Isabella Hermann, Aiki co-hosts the science fiction podcast Das war morgen.

Essays on writing, body and utopia have appeared in outlets such as Zeit and SWR Kultur.

Aiki's latest novel, Denial of Service, was published by Fischer Tor in October 2025.

Their first story collection Deshalb kann ich nicht fort will be published by Carcosa in March 2026.

The next project leaves Earth.
